The nomination period to fill the extraordinary vacancy for the Eastern Bay of Plenty General Constituency of the Bay of Plenty Regional Council has now closed. Nominations have been received from:

Enrolment Arrangements
Residents within the Eastern Bay of Plenty General Constituency who are not listed on the final electoral roll for this election can enrol by:
- visiting the Electoral Commission website (www.vote.nz)
- calling 0800 36 76 56 to get a form sent to you
- by email request to enquiries@elections.govt.nz
- or freetext your name and address to 3673 to get a form sent to you.
Enrolments close at 4pm Thursday 24 September 2026.
Eastern Bay of Plenty General Constituency ratepayers who live outside the Eastern Bay of Plenty General Constituency area and who are not listed on the final electoral roll for this election can enrol on or before 4pm on Thursday 24 September 2026 by completing and returning a ratepayer enrolment form, available from the following Bay of Plenty Regional Council offices;
- Regional House, 1 Elizabeth Street, Tauranga
- 5 Quay Street Whakatāne.
Online applications for ratepayer elector registration can also be made through the non-resident ratepayer portal: www.electionz.com/ratepayers
Special Voting Arrangements
Special voting facilities for the by-election will be available at the Bay of Plenty Regional Council offices at 5 Quay Street Whakatāne and 1 Elizabeth Street, Tauranga during normal office hours between Monday 24 August and 12 noon on Friday 25 September 2026. Further sites will be confirmed and advertised on Council’s website Elections.
